Fender ST68-85TX Stratocaster Vintage White 2004-2006 Electric Guitar
Here for sale we have a Fender ST68-85TX Stratocaster Electric Guitar in Vintage White finish. Crafted in Japan between 2004-2006, this bolt-on neck construction guitar consists of an Alder body, a Maple neck with a 21 Vintage Style fret Gloss Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style tremolo bridge and a set of Vintage "F" Stamped tuning machines. A trio of Fender Texas Special single-coils are featured, these are wired to a 3-way pickup and a master volume, neck tone and a middle pickup tone control.
 
The Maple neck plays well, with Fender's ‘U’ profile feeling comfortable in the hand and offering comfortable playability in all registers. The Maple fingerboard provides a durable playing surface, and with its 7.25" radius strikes a nice balance between easy chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending. The familiar lines of the Stratocaster body feel as great in the arms as ever, and provide a comfortable playing experience in both standing or seated positions. 
 
The guitar comes fitted with three Texas Special Single-Coil Strat pickups, these pickups provide the player with all of the classic Strat tones that you would expect from such an instrument. The bridge pickup is full of heat and bite but is in no way too brittle, perfect for ripping truly searing solos. The middle and neck are given an excellent amount of tonal diversity thanks to the tone control knobs. Packed with warmth and clarity, the neck, middle and in-between positions provide the player with tasteful tones that are enough to inspire any creative mind.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: Overall very good condition. Mild chipping of the finish is present to the rear of the headstock near the low E tuning machine, these have exposed the wood beneath. Further light indentations are present to the tip of the headstock, with these light paint transfer is also present. 

    Neck: Overall very good condition. The fingerboard displays markings consistent with a fret guard across the entire register. A previous owner has lightly sanded the rear of the neck to a Satin texture, with this light scratching is present throughout the register and can be seen under direct light.

    Body: Overall very good condition. The neck pocket demonstrates light finish cracking as is common with bolt on neck, this has been tested and present no structural concerns. There are a number of small chips and indentations on the body, the most prominent of which being located on the rear of the guitar on the bass side upper horn, and on the bass side lower edge. Both of these chips break the finish and expose the wood beneath. There are a number of other small indentations to all faces of the guitar, most of which do not break the finish. Light scratching is evident to all surfaces of the guitar which can only be seen under direct light, common with gloss finishes.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    The frets demonstrate a flattening of the crown and moderate indentations under the 'g' string. There is moderate material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (Flat head driver) not included.

    Hardware: The bridge and saddles display light to mild tarnishing and oxidation, this is consistent with past use.Light to mild scratching is present to the pick guard, these can be seen under close scrutiny. Tremolo arm included.

    Structural: No structural concerns to note.

    Strings on Guitar - 10-46

    Height of string from 12th Fret- Treble 1.75mm - Bass 2mm

    Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.

     

    Electrics: 

    Fully functional. The original pots have been replaced with CTS pots and the original 5-way pickup selector has been replaced with a 3-way selector, all original electronics included.

     

    Case & Accessories

    Fender Soft Case.

    Overall excellent condition and fully functional. The soft case displays minimal signs of use. The guitar is supplied with the original paperwork from Japan.
