Here for sale we have a Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster in Faded Sonic Blue finish. Made in Mexico in 2017, this guitar adds some classic '60s features to the already very popular 'Baja Tele', which has '50s vibe to it. Naturally, a bolt-on construction is employed and comprises an Alder body, Maple neck and 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel/Chrome hardware is fitted including a 3-saddle vintage-style Tele bridge & vintage-style split-post tuning machines. A pair of American vintage pickups are installed, with a '52 Telecaster Single-Coil in the neck and a '58 Telecaster Single-Coil in the bridge. These are wired to a 4-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls, with an S-1 switch in the volume control which reverses the pickups phase. 
 
The Maple neck plays very well, with the '60s 'C' profile filling the hand nicely without feeling at all cumbersome. Fender began slimming down their profiles in the '60s, and this is reflected very well here. There's plenty of substance to inspire confidence for rhythm & chord playing, whilst lead techniques & articulate playing are still well accommodated. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is very luxurious under the fingers, adding a distinctive '60s flavour to the guitar, as Rosewood fingerboards were introduced in '59 and became popular throughout the '60s. With it's 9.5" radius and Medium Jumbo frets, the neck feels well equipped for anything you can throw at it. 
 
Amplified, the pair of American Vintage Telecaster Single-Coil pickups deliver all of the bright, sparkly 'Twang' tones that you expect from a Telecaster. The '52 in the neck is round and smooth, working well for lead and solo sounds whilst delivering plenty of power to push you to the front of a mix. The '58 in the bridge is of course brighter and hotter, and can drive your amp into a saturated distortion with ease. The extensive controls offer added versatility over the traditional Telecaster layout, perfect for those looking for a workhorse instrument that's ready for wherever the gig takes them.
