Here for sale we have a Fender ’62 American Vintage Reissue Telecaster in Ocean Turquoise finish. Made in the USA in 2004, this guitar features a bolt-on construction consisting of an Alder body, Maple neck and a 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other features include a 3-Saddle American Vintage Strings-Through-Body Tele Bridge with Brass Saddles, Fender Vintage style 6-in a line tuning machine. The pickups installed are a pair of Fender American Vintage '62 Telecaster single-coils, designed specifically for this guitar. These are wired to a 4-way blade switch, master volume, master tone control with an added push/pull phase control.
The Maple neck plays well, with the Early '60s 'C' profile feeling substantial in the hand without being at all cumbersome. This offers a suitably vintage-inspired playing experience, accurate to the '62 Telecaster Custom specification. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck is smooth to the touch, and assists with easy navigation of the 25.5" scale. The Rosewood fingerboard provides a tactile and durable playing surface, and with its 7.25" radius is vintage accurate. Paired with the vintage size frets, this guitar plays like a genuine vintage instrument. The familiar lines of the Telecaster body feel as great in the arms as ever, and provide a comfortable playing experience in both standing or seated positions.
The Fender American Vintage '62 Telecaster single-coil pickups provide the player with the traditional Tele sound that has long been sought after. These period-correct single-coils deliver a tight low end, clear and balanced midrange and a sparkling, crystalline treble response. The neck pickup is both warm and articulate, delivering a buttery smooth tone for your lead lines and solo tones. The middle position is nicely balanced, and is well suited to funky rhythm parts and chordal playing. The bridge pickup really is the main event though, with a searing Tele 'Twang' that is perfectly suited to country licks and bluesy riffing, easily cutting through the mix to put your playing front and centre. An accurate reissue of the '62 Tele Custom, and now 20 years old, one that is gathering its own unique vintage vibe.
