Here for sale we have a Fender American Deluxe Plus Stratocaster in Mystic 3-Color Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2013, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 fret Maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted, including a 2-point Synchronized tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles, synthetic bone nut and Fender Deluxe Staggered Locking tuning machines. The pickups in this example have been replaced with a trio of Fender Custom Shop Fat ‘50s Pickups. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck tone and middle/bridge tone controls.

The American Deluxe Stratocaster Plus features the capability to use Fender’s innovative ‘Personality Cards’, which are solderless pre-wired circuits which allow for a plethora of different tonal options by simply switching the card using the easy access cavity on the rear of the body. This example is supplied with the ‘Standard’ card, in addition to the ‘Cutter’ (treble and bass cut, controlling the amount of those frequencies across all pickup selections), ‘Dipper’ (Featured internal DIP switches to turn each pickup on/off, with a fourth switch for a treble bleed effect) and ‘Blender’ (Blends the neck pickup with the bridge (position 1) or the bridge pickup with the neck (position 5) for richer tones).
 
The Maple neck plays exceptionally well, and carved into Fender's popular Modern 'C' profile, it is certainly a neck that will please the majority of players. The Satin finish to the rear is pleasant and natural feeling in the hand, whilst also assisting with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale. The Maple fingerboard provides a smooth and durable playing surface, and with the 9.5"-14" compound radius ensures a tailored playing experience in all registers. Indeed, it is comfortable for chord playing in the lower frets whilst remaining practical for articulate lead lines and string bending as you climb the register. This is enhanced by the Medium Jumbo frets, which provide a rock-solid surface for string bending and vibrato techniques. 
 
The trio of Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s Stratocaster single-coils installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied strat tones, with the three positions offering a wide selection of tones and living up to the versatile reputation that the Stratocaster commands. The neck position is warm and round, delivering plenty of power for solos and lead sounds with higher gain settings, while clean sounds are shimmering and rich. The middle pickup is brighter and works very well for funky rhythm sounds. The bridge pickup produces a searing output which can saturate into a full-throttle distortion just as well as it can deliver bright and clear Fender 'Twang'. Combine this with the wide range of tonal options provided by the various personality cards and this is truly one of the most versatile strats you will find.
