Here for sale we have a Farida M-26 Parlour Electro Acoustic Guitar in Vintage Sunburst finish. Made in China in 2010, this set-neck constructed guitar consists of a Solid Red Cedar top, Laminated Pau Ferro back and sides, a Mahogany neck, and a 19-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Bone Nut and Saddle, Vintage 3-in-line Nickel machine heads, and an aftermarket Fishman Neo-D Passive Soundhole Pickup.
 
The Mahogany neck plays beautifully, with a profile appropriate for an instrument based on pre-war design. The neck feels rather substantial in the hand, with quite a thick 'C' shape to the rear and a nut width of 1.697". This affords the guitar ample string spacing for accurate fretting and note separation which is perfect for fingerstyle players. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and along with the attractive pearloid dot inlays adds a touch of luxury to the playing experience. The 16" radius is practical for chordal, melodic and fingerstyle playing, whilst the small body size is supremely comfortable in the arms.
 
The acoustic voice of the M-26 Parlour is very well balanced, delivering a delicate and intimate tone which is perfect for fingerstyle playing as well as recording. The Parlor body size is renowned for its even balance, with its small stature reducing any of the 'boominess' often associated with larger body designs. The Pau Ferro of the back and sides add a depth and character to the sound which more than compensates for the soft bass response. The Solid Red Cedar top projects very well, and whilst clearly not the loudest of instruments provides an ample and sensitive dynamic range. A beautiful instrument with an exciting vintage-vibe and the sounds and build quality to back it up.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: Overall very good condition, All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scratching, indentation and chipping of the finish. This is most apparent to the rear treble side edge of the tuning machine cavities.

    Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates consistent light indentation throughout the register which can be somewhat felt under the thumb in playing position. The rear of the neck has buffed from satin to semi-gloss through regular use. The fingerboard demonstrates light staining in the early register consistent with regular playwear.

    Body: Overall good condition, the front face demonstrates scratching, chipping and indentation throughout. this is most notable beneath the strings by the soundhole where consistent wear has worn through the finish. A moderate indentation is apparent to the treble side of the lower bout, piercing the finish. Further damage to the finish is apparent infrequently to the sides of the instrument, particularly around the bass side waist. The rear face demonstrates very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use with indentation in the early register, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.

    Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

    Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear.

    Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

    Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm
