Here for sale we have an Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute Plus Electric Guitar in Black Cherry finish. Made in China in 2015, this guitar consists of a Mahogany body with a Carved Maple top, an AAA Flame Maple Veneer, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Locktone Tune-O-Matic bridge, a Stopbar tailpiece, Grover locking tuners, and a set of Gibson USA '57 Classic/Plus Humbuckers. These pickups are wired to two volume controls, two tone controls (push/pull series/parallel), and a three-way pickup selector.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the SlimTaper '60s 'D' profile sitting comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing surface in all registers. Based on Les Paul neck profiles from the '60s, it feels fairly slim whilst retaining the character and dependability you would expect from a Les Paul. The Rosewood fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius strikes a perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending. The medium jumbo frets offer a rock solid playing surface whilst enhancing vibrato feel.
The pair of Gibson USA '57 Classic humbuckers installed in this guitar offer a full and thick tone, exactly as you would expect for a Les Paul Standard. The Gibson USA '57 Classic in the neck delivers a warm low end, driving mids and rounded yet clear high frequencies, perfect for rock solo tones. The Gibson USA '57 Classic Plus in the bridge is hotter and provides a bright tone that saturates beautifully into distortion as you crank the gain, easily cutting through the mix. The traditional Les Paul control layout offers comprehensive control of your tone without over-complicating things. The push/pull series/parallel tone controls give this guitar a wealth of tonal variation, overall a great value workhorse for a modern gigging musician.
