Here for sale we have a Epiphone G400 Gothic SG in Satin Black finish. Made in Korea in 2002, this guitar features a set in Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and a 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. The hardware featured on this guitar consists of a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece as well as a set of Grover tuning machines. The pickups featured are a pair of Epiphone Alnico V humbuckers, these are wired to a 3-way pickup selector, independent volume and tone controls.
The ‘C’ profile neck with Satin finish sits comfortably in the hand, allowing for quick and easy navigation of the neck and ergonomic thumb positioning. The 12" radius provides a nice balance between comfortable chording and practicality for lead lines, whilst the Medium Jumbo frets aid with vibrato techniques. The double cutaways provide excellent access to the upper frets while the contour slim body provides extra comfort in both seated and standing positions.
The pair of Epiphone Alnico V humbuckers sound thick and raw, with a solid output that pushes the front end of an amp nicely. The neck pickup is full, warm with added tightness, the midrange is perfectly balanced and easily cuts through any mix. The bridge pickup produces a biting tone which easily cuts through the mix for those rock rhythm sounds and has a great harmonic register. A versatile guitar that can cover a lot of different styles.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock:
Overall very good condition. Light denting and scuffing is present to the rear face and top side edge, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the top of the rear face.
Neck:
Overall very good condition. The fingerboard has been previously repaired, with evidence of a divot, perhaps even a knot in the wood, having been filled in between the 4th and 5th frets. This is of no further structural concern and cannot be felt underhand. Light scratching and denting is present to the rear of the neck, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the mid register and can be lightly felt under the thumb in playing position.
Body:
Overall very good condition. Light scratching and denting is present to the front face, rear face and lower bout side edge, this is most noticeable to the lower bout side edge. Light chipping to the finish and cracking is present to the lower bout side edge on both the bass and treble side. The matte finish has worn to a Gloss in several areas, particularly where the arm would rest on the bass side of the front lower bout. The pickguard presents evidence of play wear, with the screws also appearing to have been replaced.
Condition of Frets:
The frets show signs of use, not affecting playability, with denting and flattening of the frets noticeable through the entire register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
