Here for sale we have a fantastically unique left handed Eastwood Airline '59 2P in Red finish. Based on the original Airline guitars that were manufactured by the VALCO company of Chicago between 1958-68, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a 'Tone Chambered' Mahogany body, Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with a Custom Chrome tailpiece, along with a Chrome TOM style bridge and a set of vintage-style tuning machines with 'Tulip' buttons. A pair of Airline Vintage voiced humbucking pickups are installed and are wired to a 3-way blade switch, independent volume and tone controls for each pickup and a master volume.
The Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a 'C' Shape which fills the hand nicely without being at all cumbersome. Certainly, the profile will be familiar to those used to a Fender neck, feeling easily playable in all registers. The Gloss finish to the rear assists in smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale, whilst the dual cutaways enhance access to the upper frets. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12" radius feels nicely flat and consistent right the way up the register. Medium Jumbo frets improve the feel of string bending and vibrato techniques and ensure that this guitar is well equipped for the expressive player.
The pair of Airline Vintage Voiced humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones well suited to a wide range of genres and playing styles. The neck pickup is nicely round and clear, with plenty of power for pushing your solos and lead licks to the front of the mix. The middle position is perfect for funky rhythm tones whilst being able to handle enough gain for a crunchy overdrive sound. The bridge is brighter, and with a higher output is easily able to drive an amp into a saturated distortion sound, perfect for those rock rhythm parts. The independent volume and tone controls for each pickup offer the player comprehensive control of their sound right on the guitar without intruding on the playing experience. An excellent player with a unique look and vibe, perfect for the guitarist looking to stand out.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
