Here for sale we have a beautiful Eastman E6OM Thermo-Cure acoustic guitar in Truetone Gloss finish. Made in China in 2022, this guitar features an all-solid construction comprising a Thermo-Cured Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in tortoiseshell, whilst the top is handsomely adorned with a matching tortoiseshell pickguard and multi-stripe rosette. A Bone compensated saddle is fitted, along with a Bone nut. The tuning machines are a set of Nickel Open-Gear Pingwell V93N 3+3 vintage style tuners. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays fantastically well. The Traditional Even 'C' profile feels nicely substantial in the hand without being at all cumbersome. Certainly, the neck is thicker than some more modern designs, which helps to add a distinctive character to the playing experience. The volute to the rear is an accurate pre-war feature which is pleasant under the thumb when playing in open position. The Ebony selected for the fingerboard of this particular example is particularly dark in appearance, and with its tight grain adds a real sense of luxury whilst providing a smooth and durable playing surface. 
 
The acoustic voice of the Eastman E6OM-TC is very finely balanced. The OM body size is renowned for its intimate tone and even frequency response, and this Eastman is absolutely no exception. The Mahogany back and sides add depth and character to the low end, whilst providing a punchy mid range. The Thermo-Cure treatment applied to the top is often called torrefication by other manufacturers, and is a process where the top is heat treated to reduce the woods propensity to absorb moisture, increasing the stability of the timber and therefore the longevity of the instrument. In addition, some believe that it adds warmth to the tone.
