Here for sale we have a Danelectro Dano 63 Reissue Electric Guitar in Aqua finish. Made in China this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Chambered Masonite body, a Maple neck, and a 21-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include enclosed tuners, nickel hardware, and two lipstick single coil pickups that are wired to a master volume and tone controls, and a three-way pickup selector.
The Maple neck plays very well, with what might be described as a 'C' profile that provides comfortable playability in all registers. The Satin finish to the rear ensures that navigation of the 25" scale is a smooth and effortless affair. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12" radius offers a nicely flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register. The Masonite construction keeps the weight down to just 6.3lbs, meaning this guitar is nice and light on the shoulders.
The Masonite body construction ensures a beautiful resonance and nicely open tone that suits this style of guitar perfectly. The pair of Lipstick single-coils installed deliver a bright and sparkling sound that will cut easily through even the most saturated of mixes The volume and tone controls are intuitive to use, giving enough versatility without over complicating things. Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top rear edge demonstrates some chipping of the finish, revealing the wood beneath. Surrounding this is scratching and scuffing that pierces the top coat of finish.
Neck: Overall very good condition, the fingerboard edge demonstrates slight finish delamination in places, most notably beside the 12th fret on the treble side.
Body: Overall very good condition, a small chip to the finish is apparent to the bass side waist. All aspects demonstrate light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Discoloration and colour transfer is apparent to the side tape around the body, most notably on the treble side horn.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of wear, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.
Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of use. The nut has been shimmed by a previous owner. Discoloration is present to the pick guard and sides of the body. Mild scratching is present to the bridge plate.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
